Books and Podcasts I’m Currently Loving

Books and Podcasts I’m Currently Loving

One thing I really fell in love with this summer was reading and listening to podcasts. I have always had a great love for books, but before this summer, I had not finished a book that wasn’t assigned to me for school in a few years. I started listening to podcasts at the beginning of this year, but it was inconsistent.

Over the past few months, I have really enjoyed reading more and listening to different types of podcasts. While I was at camp, I read four books and listened to a couple of podcast episodes when I could. I just wanted to make this post as a recommendation reference, and to possibly find more books to read and more podcasts to listen to!

Books:

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

I absolutely loved this book! I bought it during quarantine because I heard so many people hyping it up, and I wanted to give it a try. However, I did not end up reading it until I went to camp, and I loved it! The ending did make me a little sad, but it is most definitely worth the read.

This is Not a Fashion Story by Danielle Bernstein

I finished this book in about two days just because it was so so good! This book is so inspiring, and it just makes me want to be the most incredible girl boss I can be. My dream job is to work anywhere in the fashion industry, and I loved reading about how Danielle started her own brand and worked her way up to where she is now. This is definitely a great read if you want to feel so empowered!

Love Does by Bob Goff

I’ve heard about this book for quite some time, but I never got around to reading it. I decided that this would my next camp read. Bob Goff has so many interesting stories. I really aspire for my life to be as eventful as his! He has such a unique way of writing, and each chapter is basically a different story that he ties back to God and the Bible. This book is inspiring, knowledgable, and relaxing. I definitely recommend it!

Everybody Always by Bob Goff

Just like Love Does, this book is full of stories from Bob Goff’s life that he connects to God and the Bible. Honestly, I was still so amazed that he still had so many stories to tell in this book as well. Once again, he is an incredible writer, and his books are so enjoyable and inspiring. I will definitely be purchasing his third book, Dream Big, that was published just last month.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers

This is a book I am currently reading. One of my sweet friends sent this to me while I was at camp, but I didn’t get a chance to read it while I was there. Even though I am just getting into it, I’ve heard it is such a great read! It definitely is more of a time commitment than the other books I have read, but I cannot wait to finish it soon!

Podcasts:

Gals on the Go

Danielle Carolan and Brooke Miccio are two of my favorite YouTubers, who also happen to have a podcast together! Their podcast was my go-to when I was walking to class last semester. Their episodes are super relatable, motivating, and helpful! They offer great advice on any subject you could possibly think of! So if you ever want some motivation, I would definitely recommend this podcast because they keep it incredibly real!

Crime Junkie

This podcast is perfect if you love Criminal Minds, Law & Order, etc. This podcast consists of episodes of true crime, and it is so intriguing. Honestly, some episodes keep me on the edge of my seat and get my mind rolling.

I Love You So Much

Another YouTuber I watch, Kenzie Elizabeth, has such a great podcast! Her podcast is relatable and informative, and she features guests on her podcast who spread just a positive light. She keeps it real on all her episodes, and her guests do as well. Definitely one of my favorite podcasts!

Anything Goes

I remember when I started watching Emma Chamberlain when she was still living in San Francisco, and most of the pictures on her Instagram were taken by her dad. Now, she is one of the most successful YouTubers out there, and she still has so much time to grow even more. One thing I love about her podcasts is that she makes it feel like she is talking directly to you as if she is one of your friends. I definitely recommend this podcast if you want some true advice and a good laugh.

Bought + Beloved

Personally, I have not listened to an episode of this podcast yet, but I’ve heard great things about it! If you’re looking for a podcast to help you grow more in your faith, I would recommend this one!

For the Girl

Two girls, MacKenzie Wilson and Mackenzie Baker, own this podcast. Once again, this podcast was a recommendation, and I have not listened to any episodes personally. On this podcast, it is such a relaxing girl talk moment. Mostly, they focus on faith-related topics, but they also incorporate other topics into their episodes. This one is definitely motivating and inspiring!

The Porch

This podcast belongs to a young adult ministry from a church in Texas, and they talk about topics specific to young adults, and they tie it back to faith and the Bible. If you are needing to just have an uplifting moment, I definitely recommend this podcast.

If you made it to here, thank you so much for reading all of this! If you are in a funk about what to read or the next podcast to listen to, I hope this helped. If you have any books or podcasts you’re loving right now, let me know because I’m always up to try something new!

Xoxo,

Fo♡
